Some of these have been used before for the 1995 IRB Rugby World Cup while others have been constructed especially for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Based in Cape Town, this new stadium is situated amongst popular tourist and shopping venues and boasts a seating capacity of 68,000 fans.
Polokwane
Peter Mokaba Stadium
The Peter Mokaba Sports Stadium will be enhanced for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, featuring advanced equipment and seating capacity for 45,000.
Durban*
Durban Stadium
With a seating capacity of 70,000, this stadium will be part of the Durban King’s Park sporting precinct which includes a variety of different sporting disciplines, including athletics, rugby, golf and swimming.
Pretoria
Loftus Versfeld Stadium
With a seating capacity of 45,000 fans, the Loftus Versfeld Stadium boasts the country’s finest corporate sporting facilities. It is situated 5 km from Pretoria’s city center and has hosted many international games.
Johannesburg
Ellis Park Stadium
The prestigious Ellis Park Stadium hosted a farewell match for Nelson Mandela between the Nelson Mandela African XI and the World All Stars in 1999.
