OUR SAILING SPONSORSHIP

Our continued support of world-class sailing

We firmly established our support for sailing in 2004, when we became the naming sponsor of Emirates Team New Zealand. Since then we have also become the Official Airline partner of the 36th America’s Cup presented by Prada, which includes the America’s Cup World Series (ACWS), sponsoring preliminary regattas leading up to the main event in 2021. We are also the Presenting Partner of the ACWS event in the UK.

Emirates Team New Zealand

We have enjoyed memorable journeys with Emirates Team New Zealand since 2004. It’s a relationship based not only on a passion for bringing people together through sport, but on striving for excellence with focus and a vision for success.

In 2021, Emirates Team New Zealand retained the America's Cup trophy that they had won in 2017, winning the best of 13 series by 7 races to 3. This was their fourth victory, following earlier wins in 1995 and 2000. With four America's Cup wins under their belts, Emirates Team New Zealand are the most successful team in modern America’s Cup history.

Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team

We're out on the water with the Great Britain SailGP Team, one of the world’s most successful sailing teams. In February 2023 we announced our partnership as the team’s first-ever Title Sponsor.

Our Fly Better logo appears on the Great British F50 race boat, with prominent branding on the sail, centre of the wing and hull. Our logo also appears on the front and back of the team’s clothing, sailing apparel and equipment.

Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team CEO is Sir Ben Ainslie, the world's most successful Olympic sailor having won Gold at four consecutive games between 2000 and 2012.

The Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team is driven by double Olympic Gold medallist Giles Scott. Alongside Scott, Emirates GBR’s crew line-up is packed with the country’s top sporting talent, including the most successful female Olympic sailor, strategist Hannah Mills OBE.

The America's Cup

What started as a sailing race around the Isle of Wight in 1851 has become the pinnacle event in world sailing and is the oldest trophy in international sport. We sponsored the 36th edition of the America’s Cup in Auckland and we're the Global Partner and Official Airline for the 37th event. You would have found us in the Race Villages at the America’s Cup Preliminary Regattas in Vilanova and Jeddah and will find us during the Louis Vuitton Cup, as well as the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup in Barcelona from August until October this year.

We're also flying on the AC37 chase boats and event boats, as well as the official stage and prize giving areas.
