These ingredients need seasoning, of course, which is where the market’s spice section comes in. Pick up aromatic blends from around the globe, from cardamom to tahini, zaatar to cumin, as well as barbecue, curry and marinade powders. Honey and dates are also available. Inside the market’s indoor warehouse, you’ll also find a well-priced selection of locally sourced as well as imported fruits and vegetables. Chefs from the city’s finest restaurants pick up their daily produce from here, a testament to the quality on offer.

After wandering the market’s sprawling fresh food stalls, head to its fashion hub that houses discounted butgood-quality clothing for the entire family. The market doubles in energy over the weekend, with lively bazaars dotting the neighbouring promenade and selling almost anything you can think of, from gadgets to inexpensive perfumes.
