Vermicelli rice preparation:
- Soak the basmati rice for 30 minutes, then add cooking oil (15ml) to the pot, add vermicelli (40gm) and shallow fry until golden in colour; add 1 or 2 cloves of cardamom, add basmati rice and mix the ingredients; add water
- Cover with foil and cook for 10 minutes on very high heat, followed by 10 minutes on very low heat
