We are planning to introduce online services from new destinations in the near future. As soon as we launch online services from a new destination, we will announce it on our website.
In the meantime, if you live in a country where online booking is not yet available, you can still benefit from using this site by finding suitable flights online and then booking your ticket through our email enquiry form. Alternatively, you can call your local Emirates office to make your booking.
You can start by visiting Make a Booking(opens in the same window). You will then be guided through the process of planning an itinerary, selecting flights, and making ticketing arrangements.
You do not need to pay to check availability and fares. We only require your payment details if you choose to complete a booking.
This will depend on the country of departure. In some countries, for security reasons, the holder of the credit card used to book a ticket or group of tickets must be one of the travellers on that itinerary or have the same family name. In some cases, you may be required to present the credit card used to pay for the tickets at the airport check-in counter prior to receiving your boarding pass.
On the Enter billing information page where the credit card details are entered, if the "Cardholder last name" can be typed in, you will be able to pay for the booking even if you are not travelling and do not hold the same family name as one of the travellers. If the "Cardholder last name" appears in a drop-down menu and cannot be changed from those of the travellers, you will unfortunately not be able to pay for the booking unless you are travelling or have the same family name.
As an alternative, you could select a different payment option where available, such as bank transfer, PayPal or simply to book online and make the payment at a local Emirates office(opens in the same window) . The options available will depend on the country of departure and how much time remains prior to your flight.
Please note that the fare quoted is only valid for payment in the country of departure. Due to ticketing regulations, a different fare may apply if you wish to pay for the tickets at an Emirates office in another country, or in some cases you may not be able to pay outside the country specified at the time of booking. After three days, the booking would be cancelled automatically if tickets have not been collected and paid for. Please contact your local Emirates office(opens in the same window) to confirm.
Emirates Skywards members may make a redemption booking for friends and family, and pay for the applicable taxes online with their own credit cards.
Once you have selected a combination of flights that you are satisfied with, click ‘Book this Itinerary’ at the bottom of the screen to begin entering your details. You will be guided through the process, from selecting a ticketing option, to entering passenger details, to providing payment information. Depending on your flight details, you may pay by credit card online or over the phone, or by cash or credit card in person, either at an Emirates office or at the airport. You will be notified of your available options at the time of booking.
Once you have confirmed all your flight, personal, and payment details, a summary of this information will be displayed along with your booking reference and your ticket.
The booking reference indicates that your reservation has been confirmed. An email confirming your booking will be sent to the email address provided by you during the booking process and your ticket will be attached.
If you book online, you will receive an electronic ticket (also referred to as an ‘eticket’) by email to the address you provided when during the booking process.
All tickets purchased on Emirates website are issued as electronic tickets.
Your booking details are stored securely in our network. When it’s time to travel, simply present your receipt and passport when checking in at the airport.
Because your booking information is stored with us, there’s no ticket to misplace or lose, and your travel details can easily be changed at any time online.
If you want to print your ticket for your own information, you can view your ticket booking reference via the email we sent you or by accessing Manage a booking(opens in the same window) .
When booking, every person travelling will get their own individual ticket, including children and infants.
If you need to request a refund, please fill in the ticket refund form(opens in the same window) .
Please note that for many bookings, refunds may incur a fee, or may not be allowed, depending on any specific terms and conditions attached to the booking.
Online booking using real time payment is available for any flights up to 2 hours before scheduled departure time. Real time payment options include credit card, debit card, PayPal and real time bank transfer.
Other payment types including bank transfers, Western Union etc have their own advance purchase restrictions, please view FAQ here(opens in the same window).
You can purchase a ticket online up to 328 days before the date of travel.
Yes, using the ‘Advanced search’ tool on the ‘Book a flight’ page.
You can also use this function to book a stopover: simply enter each leg of the journey separately. For example, to book a stopover in Dubai on your way from London to Sydney, enter “London” and “Dubai” in the first set of search fields, then “Dubai” and “Sydney” in the second set. Then click “Add a destination”, and enter “Sydney” and “London” in the final set of search fields.
You can also use this function to book a journey that begins in one city and ends in another after passing through one or more other cities in between.
Yes. Select the ‘One way’ radio button on the Book a flight(opens in the same window) page.
Emirates allocates seats for restricted and unrestricted fares in the same class, so you may find some seats available but at a higher cost. Lower fares may be available as special weekend deals or if you stay at your destination for a minimum amount of time.
Once you select your itinerary, dates, cabin class and passengers, the search results page will show at the top the lowest price for all passengers for this particular search. On that page, you can also opt to see prices for the “Previous day” and “Next day” for each flight.
You can also try the “My dates are flexible” option on the Book a flight(opens in the same window) page, which will show results for +/- 3 days of the initial search.
We make every effort to show all fees and taxes during online booking, but additional fees and taxes may be charged on ticket issuance or at the airport if levied by the country of departure.
You can book online for up to 9 passengers, including all adults and children in your travelling party.
Yes. You can book up to 10 flights during each online session.
One of the factors that contributes to the price of our flights is the popularity of the route and the schedule. So two flights between the same points may be priced differently because one flies on a more popular schedule.
A promotional code is a seven letter code which relates to a special offer. Entering this code at the beginning of the booking process allows you to view search results specifically related to the offer.
You can correct the name on your ticket (subject to fees) if your name is misspelled on the ticket. This must be done before the first flight of your itinerary.
If you have legally changed your name you may do this at any time throughout your journey.
Emirates does not allow transfer of ticket to someone else, by changing the name on your ticket to another person.
We may request further evidence from you in respect of any request to change the name on your ticket.
If your name is misspelled on the ticket, you may be able to get it changed. Here is an overview of fees:
All markets (excluding EU, UK, Brazil and India):
EU:
UK:
Brazil:
India:
For direct bookings, this must be done at least two hours before the departure of your flight. Passengers are required to contact Emirates either via our contact centre or one of our ticket offices.
For bookings made through a travel agent, you will need to make the request with the travel agent.
If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example: if you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice.
Passengers without ‘M’ or ‘F’ gender indicated on their passport may be refused transit or entry by immigration authorities in certain destinations, including Dubai. This is outside of Emirates’ control and we will have no liability to you for their decision.
emirates.com offers a variety of payment methods and the options available to you will depend on the country that your booking departs from and the amount of time left before you depart.
You may be offered one or more of the following payment options:
Since we have different payment options from different countries, we would ask that you check during the booking process what payment options are given to you. If your desired payment option is not shown, it may not be available for the country that you are departing from, or there is too little time left before departure.
This will depend on the country of departure of the ticket.
On the Enter billing information page where the credit card details are entered, if the "Cardholder name" can be typed in, you would be able to pay for the booking even if you are not travelling. If the "Cardholder name" appears in a drop-down menu and cannot be changed, you would unfortunately not be able to pay for the booking unless you are travelling.
In some countries, for security reasons, the holder of the credit card used to book a ticket or group of tickets must be one of the travellers on that itinerary, and will be required to show the actual credit card at the airport check-in counter prior to receiving boarding passes.
Skywards members may make a redemption booking for friends and family, and pay for the applicable taxes online with their own credit cards, if the country of departure offers credit card payment.
Business Rewards administrators may also pay for their organizations members bookings by credit card, if the country of departure offers credit card payment.
Some debit cards are accepted however this will depend on the country of departure. Payment by your debit card is instant and the whole amount is taken. Visa & MasterCard debit cards are generally accepted; however your bank may or may not have enabled internet payments on your debit card. Please check with your bank.
emirates.com does not offer the facility to pay with more than one credit card for one booking at this time.
When you are required to enter your billing information and credit card details during the payment process, the following rules apply for all bookings made on emirates.com:
For itineraries booked www.emirates.com/us; that originate from the US, where the booking is made seven days or more prior to flight departure, you may request a refund within 24 hours of booking without penalty. Your refund will be processed within seven days of submitting the ticket refund form(opens in the same window) . Any date changes requested are subject to the applicable fare conditions. Hotel and car reservations are not included in the refund rule.
When you book a ticket online, the total cost will usually be quoted in the country of departure’s currency. For example if you’re departing from Dubai your total will be in UAE dirhams, and if you’re departing from the UK it will show in British pounds.
You can choose from a range of currencies when you pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Diners Club. These options are available for many countries and are offered on the page where you enter your card details. Please be aware that if you choose to pay in a currency that’s different to your card’s currency, your card issuer will use its own exchange rate and may also apply a charge. Unfortunately we have no control over your card issuer’s exchange rates or your bank’s charges. Please also note that if you choose to pay in another currency on the payment page, any refund requested will be processed in the original currency, and not the other currency you chose to pay in.

Western Union is a safe and widely used money transfer service available through thousands of Western Union agents worldwide, meaning that you can send and receive money within minutes.
When booking online at emirates.com and selecting the option to pay by Western Union, once you have completed your booking, you will be given a pre-filled Western Union Quick Pay form to print out. Please take this form, your money and a form of Identification (ID) to your nearest Western Union Quick Pay(opens in a new window) branch and pay within 48 hours of booking. They will accept your payment and enter the data into their system and transmit the funds to Emirates. Once we have confirmed that we have received your money, we will automatically issue your e-ticket and e-mail it to you. Please allow 7 days for this to happen.
Please note that Western Union will apply a charge for this service that is not included in your fare.
PayPal is a safe, easy way to pay. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information. Before using PayPal, you need to register with them, and you need to register a method of payment with them, such as a credit or debit card.
When booking online at emirates.com and selecting the PayPal option, you will be sent to the PayPal website, where you will need to log-on and select one of the payment methods that you have registered with them in order to pay. PayPal will process your payment, and you will then be taken back to emirates.com, where your booking confirmation and e-tickets will be given. PayPal provides payment to Emirates on your behalf, and your payment method details are not given to Emirates.
There are two types of bank transfer options:
We used to have real-time banking payment options but these are no longer available.
Offline Bank Transfer (wire transfer) is a very safe payment method. Once you have chosen to pay by bank transfer, and select the option to complete your booking, the bank account details will be displayed where the amount of the order (ticket fee) should be paid to. You will also receive a payment reference. You can then make payment from your bank into the bank account specified within 48 hours. It is extremely important to include the payment reference with the transfer. Based on this reference, payment will be matched with the booking and confirmed to Emirates. Based on this confirmation, ticket will be issued and sent to you automatically. If you do not include this payment reference there may be a problem issuing your ticket.
The ELV payment method for Germany is no longer available.
If paying by credit or debit card, and you have confirmed that you have been charged but not received e-tickets, please contact your local Emirates office(opens in the same window) and provide details on the transaction, so that it can be traced and you can be assisted. You may be asked to provide a proof of payment for some payment methods.
If paying by Western Union or Offline Bank Transfer, please allow 7 days from the date of booking to allow time for your payment to be recognized and tickets issued. If you have not received e-tickets after this time, please contact your local Emirates office(opens in the same window) by e-mail and provide them with a copy of your payment receipt given to you by the Western Union agency or your bank. We will attempt to trace your payment in our system and then assist you in issuing tickets.
A surcharge applies to all flights departing from Türkiye, New Zealand and Australia paid for with a credit card, PayPal or Visa Checkout. The surcharge is only for flights and isn’t applied to any other services such as hotel stays or excess baggage allowances. You won’t pay a surcharge if you pay for flights with a debit card.
The surcharge applies to adults and children, in all cabins and within all fare types. The surcharge doesn’t apply on tickets for infants.
For itineraries departing Australia, the surcharge cost is equal to 0.91% of the total ticket value for each passenger for payments of more than AUD100 respectively. Irrespective of the value of the ticket, the surcharge per passenger will not exceed AUD 120 for bookings made from Australia.
For itineraries departing from New Zealand, the surcharge cost is equal to 1.5% of the total ticket value for each passenger for payments of more NZD 100 respectively. Irrespective of the value of the ticket, the surcharge per passenger will not exceed NZD 70 for bookings made from New Zealand.
For itineraries departing from Türkiye, the surcharge cost is USD 5 for all payments of more than USD 200.
The surcharge is fully refundable so long as no part of the ticket has been used for travel.
Emirates Pay is a quick and convenient way to pay for Emirates flights and services without having to use a credit card. Developed in collaboration with Deutsche Bank and IATA, Emirates Pay gives you added security along with a new contactless payment option.
When you book a flight on emirates.com, you will automatically have the option to make a payment using Emirates Pay. You can link your bank account to Emirates Pay securely and complete your booking.
If the country that the ticket departs from does not allow you to use your card if you are not travelling, depending on the departure country and the time before departure, you might be able to use another payment method that does allow you to pay for someone else. The payment methods that support this are PayPal, real-time or online banking, offline bank transfer, or Western Union.
Hold My Fare is a service that lets you reserve your fare quote for 72 hours. It means that if you want to pay later, you won’t be affected by any changes to the fares in that time.
There is a small reservation fee. This will be authorised on your card. However, if you pay for your flights within 72 hours, the fee will be released back to you.
Hold My Fare is only for Economy Class flights. It is offered as an option up to 24 days before your flight.
The fee is different depending on your route, and ranges for short-haul, medium-haul and long-haul flights. The fee applies to each passenger, but not to infants. And if you pay your full fare within 72 hours, you won’t have to pay the reservation fee.
You can choose to hold your fare when you get to the payment page on emirates.com. You will see your reservation fee, which you’ll need to authorise on your card. There’s also some information about how to use the Hold My Fare service and how to complete your booking.
This reservation fee will only be charged if you don’t pay for your full fare within 72 hours. We’ll show the expiry date and time so you know when you need to pay.
You can only use Hold My Fare for Economy Class flights, and not with other products. If you choose to hold a fare, any other products in your shopping cart, such as travel insurance, will be removed from your booking. Once you pay for your flights, then you can add more products to your journey via Manage a booking.
Log in to Manage a booking(opens in the same window) with your last name and booking reference. Then click ‘Pay now’ to confirm and pay for your booking.
Unfortunately you can’t use Hold My Fare when you book a Classic reward flight (which you pay for using Skywards Miles), or a Cash Plus Miles booking. The service also isn’t available for Business Rewards bookings.
You can only reserve a fare for Economy Class bookings on Emirates flights. And you can use the service up to 24 days before your flight.
You can’t use Hold My Fare on special offers, flights with our codeshare partners or interline bookings (flights with other airlines booked through us).
If your held fare expires, your held fare will be cancelled and your card will be charged with the reservation fee that was quoted when you used Hold My Fare. We only return the reservation fee when you pay for the booking within the 72-hour time limit.
The reservation fee is only blocked on your card in Emirates name and not actually charged. When you paid for your held booking in full, the reservation fee would be released back to you.
Depending on your banks processes, this can take up to 7 days. Since the funds were only blocked on your card, you may not see the released reservation fee show as a refund on your card – your bank balance would simply be adjusted back to what it would have been without the reservation fee held.
